Red Rocks offers the opportunity to learn how to make banana beer with women of the community. They showed us the process: first, you need to peal the bananas and smash them with a sort of straw in a large container. This work requires a lot of strength. Eventually, the bananas turn into a jus that is almost too sweet to enjoy. The jus will then be mixed with water to dilute the aroma. The second part of the process requires grinding the sorghum, a type of plant that grows in Africa and turn it into flour. The flour is then mixed with the jus and kept overnight to ferment. The final product was delicious and the experience wonderful.
